FREE Data Transfer!

We know how difficult it may be to move all your stuff from one server to another or even from one account to another. So what we offer is to move all your stuff from your current hosting company to us completely FREE. Meaning that you will not need to worry about the physical transfering! BUT - it doesn't just stop there...! We will also move and install your databases, and even change your script connection file to your database! We will also move your email accounts. Now... That's moving completely hassle free! Even if you do not transfer your domain to us, we are also able to change your DNS settings for you! This means that you will move without noticing a thing!!

Some Essentials

There are a few things which you need to be aware of.

Notification
You must not tell your current host that you are changing provider before all the data is moved and everything is ready to go! Some hosting companies get bitter when you tell them that you are leaving them and just lock your account as soon as you do so no matter if your contract has time remaining or not!
Domains
Who registered your domain name? If it is your old hosting company - were you given access to edit the DNS settings? If not - please wait until you have a backup of all your files before asking them to change your nameservers.
Timing
It may take us up to 7 working days to transfer all your data from one server to another depending on the amount of data you wish to transfer. This usually is done within 24 hours however in certain circumstances such time delay must be taken into account. Remember that your current account must still be active during the entire time we transfer your data.
How does this work?
We ask you to fill in a form which we send you once you have signed up and requested the service. Once the form is completed and sent to us - we will notify you of when we begin the transfer of all your data onto our servers and when the transfer is completed. Once all the transferred data is complete, if you ask us we will then change your domain settings for you. Then there is nothing left for you to do other than enjoy your new hosting company!
Are there any risks?
We have done file transfers and domain DNS changes for years, and after over a thousand of them, we know what we are doing - however there is always the possibility that something may go wrong. This is why we still keep a copy of all your data on our office internal servers until the transfer is complete and nothing has gone wrong. In the highly unlikely event that something went wrong, it is always best to keep a backup just in case! But we havn't had a single issue yet!

What is "data transfer"?

Data transfer is when we move all the files from one hosting company to another. Including your emails, email accounts, images, websites... As well as anything which you were hosting on your previous host.

Is there anything I need?

You need to have a web hosting, reseller or VPS package with us in order to be eligible for free data transfer.

Do I need a domain?

Yes. We we cannot offer hosting without one therefore we cannot transfer any data.

Can I transfer the domain to you as well?

Yes! We would be happy to host your domain! In addition we also provide a way of controlling your entire domain from our control panel - allowing you to edit the DNS of the domain as well as editing the WHOIS information.

What is DNS and can you help me change it?

DNS means Domain Name System - it allows you to connect your domain name to your website. If you do not transfer the domain to us, we will gladly help you to change it.

What do i need to do for the transfer to happen?

You will need to either select the option at the ckeckout where we will send you the form to fill in or contact hosting[at]xelionone.com asking us to transfer your data and we will send you the form. Once the form is filled in - we will notify you upon, the start, and completion of the transfer of data.

Is there any anticipated down-time?

There should be no down-time during the transfer and the move should be un-noticeable. However if you have changed your DNS there is a slight delay which occurs due to propagation. If you are transferring a domain, please make sure that the registrar lock is off / unlocked and that you provide us with an EPP / AUTH code as soon as possible for us to complete your request. The person on the WHOIS will also be notified and will be required to accept the changes to the domain, so please ensure that you have access to the email address listed on the whois. Domain transfers may take up to 5 working days - in the mean time you can change the DNS to our servers and start using your hosting!
